The new range of Hyundai excavators comes with an optional new innovative Advanced Around View Monitoring (AAVM) camera system, which offers the ultimate in safety for operators and site personnel. This technology is said to allow the operator to secure a field of vision in all directions around his/her machine.

Exclusive to Hyundai, the AAVM camera system is said to be the first of its kind on the market. The Korean original equipment manufacturer says it is the only manufacturer on the market currently offering four cameras which work in collaboration with the controller and produce a 360° image of the working range around the machine. It secures a field of vision in all directions with 10 different viewing options including a 3D bird’s eye view and 2D/4CH using touch screen technology.

Hyundai’s new camera system also incorporates Intelligent Moving Object Detection (IMOD) which informs the operator when people or dangerous objects are detected within a 5m radius of the machine, offering the operator hi-precision control over the machine and its surroundings. The operator can select different virtual camera positions views – not only a bird’s eye view.

Movements around the machine

The IMOD indicates all movements around the machine. Movement is shown on the monitor by putting a rectangle around the object or person by indicating the side at which there is movement by arrows – the operator, in addition to viewing the obstruction, will be notified by an alarm.

This new system is ideal for busy jobsites, working in tight spaces, road construction where personnel may be in the working vicinity of the machine, inner cities and sites where there are high safety concerns and regulations.

The AAVM is incorporated within the 20,3cminteractive, adjustable, touchscreen cluster-monitor in the cab. The monitor includes haptic control, providing easier operator accessibility and better ergonomics. The haptic control delivers reactive, tactile sensations using to guide the operator through menu selections.
