The order consists of 30 SDLG LG958 wheel loaders and 28 SDLG G9220 motor graders.

SDLG dealer Al-Futtaim Auto and Machinery Company (FAMCO) has put the first units on the ground after it won a significant order to supply 58 machines to the Shibh Al-Jazira Contracting Company in Saudi Arabia.

The first units of a substantial 58-machine order have been delivered.  The order – comprising 30 SDLG LG958 wheel loaders and 28 SDLG G9220 motor graders – was signed earlier in the year, amid fierce competition from Chinese and Western equipment suppliers in Saudi Arabia.

“There are several reasons why we won this deal,” says Essam Al-Malik, central regional manager at FAMCO. “These include our ability to deliver the machines to the customer’s precise requirements, SDLG and FAMCO’s combined ability to carry out greater customer support and aftersales service, and our short lead time for delivery.”

Established in 1965, Shib Al-Jazira is one of the largest contractors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and operates a fleet of over 1 500 machines. From its six locations – in Qassim, Khobar, Medina, Jeddah, Abha and Riyadh – it is currently involved in delivering over 40 mega projects in Saudi Arabia.

“The machines will now be distributed throughout 20 different cities in Saudi Arabia for a large-scale highway maintenance project,” says Motasim Abulhasan, SDLG central region sales manager at FAMCO.
