SLDLG’s B877 backhoe loader is an ideal solution for small and upcoming contractors. “Backhoe loaders appeal to many businesses, particularly smaller companies making their first equipment purchase, and the African market for backhoe loaders is one of the largest outside of America and Europe,” says Stefan Bach, business manager for Africa at SDLG.
SDLG’s B877 is an 8,4-ton side-shift backhoe loader said to be designed for all-day operation. Its turbo-charged 70kW Weichai engine is claimed to provide of fuel saving of 49% via its torque reserve.
It is equipped with a hydraulic torque converter and synchronised four-speed transmission, and can therefore reach speeds of up to 40km/h. It has a breakout force of 60kN and a maximum digging force of 50kN.
The backhoe loader’s 55˚turning radius can be moved easily when working in confined areas where space is restricted.
The machine features a special front-steering drive axle, which can be disengaged with a switch for better efficiency at high speeds. The rigid drive axle with closed wet brake and an electronic differential lock provides better traction in dangerous underfoot conditions.
Its three-pump, four-valve hydraulic loop helps lifting and steering operations.
Equipment Africa says: The B877 will fill the gap left by the Volvo backhoe loader range, and in a market where price plays a crucial role in buying decisions, SDLG’s first backhoe loader will offer first time equipment buyers a gateway to owning their very first tool of trade.
