The V32 is Montabert’s flagship variable 15-speed breaker, said to be the only one in its size class with an automatic variable speed rating.
One of the biggest names in the hammer market is French attachment specialist Montabert, through its local subsidiary, Montabert South Africa (SA). Montabert is a premium maker offering hydraulic hammers for 1 tonne (t) to 100t sized carriers.
According to Vinesh Naidu, sales manager of Montabert SA, demand in South Africa is predominantly in the 18t-40t carrier range, especially driven by construction and demolition contractors. “We have seen a few mines using our V32 hammers in underground applications, but this range is also popular in the construction and quarrying industries,” says Naidu.
The V32 is Montabert’s flagship variable 15-speed breaker, said to be the only one in its size class with an automatic variable speed rating. “This gives us the edge against our competitors. It is preferred by a lot of our mining and construction companies due to its reliability, production capabilities, as well as its robust construction which translates into a long life span in any fleet if maintained correctly,” says Naidu.
The V32 forms part of Montabert’s heavy premium product range for all types of carriers from 20 to 80t. The V32, ideal for 18-30t carriers, is the smallest in a range which also comprises the V45, V55 and V65 for 45-90t carrier sizes. The centrepiece of this range is its ability to automatically adjust working frequency, through up to 15 different speeds, thereby improving productivity. This happens even if the breaker is set to minimal flow. This range comes with housing that keeps the power cell in a fully suspended and soundproofed box. This prevents cracks on excavator boom and breaker housing, and allows operators to work with very low sound levels.
For tool life improvement, any torque force transmitted to the tool by the material is absorbed by the upper bushing. This component feature also improves tool guidance and reduces internal frictions. Subsequently, both retainers and tool lifespan is significantly improved thanks to this exclusive patented system. Designed with the operator in mind, features such as overflow protection, blank firing protection, automatic frequency adjustment and hydraulic accumulator make the operator’s life a lot easier.
Equipment Africa says: Meanwhile, Montabert SA has launched several new hammers into the local market. These include the new XL1700 green line for low budget clients, the NG501 for 14-18t carriers with a new technology design, as well as the HC95 retrofit drifter for surface and underground drilling applications.
