Mecalac is searching for a dealer for its range of compact loaders and excavators in South Africa. Martine Mercier of Mecalac told Equipment Africa at bauma 2016 that the French company sees a healthy growth of compact equipment in South Africa and believes it’s time to appoint a local representative in the market.

Over the years, Mecalac has been active in North Africa due to the proximity to this market.

Compact wheeled excavators are at the heart of the French OEM’s business activity, and it has established itself in European markets through its fundamentally distinctive machine ranges.

Its new wheeled excavator concept, the MWR range scooped the Innovation Award at bauma 2016. This concept is a combination of the rotation offered by a wheeled excavator and the stability of a telescopic handling vehicle. All the components in the upper carriage have been lowered as much as possible, and the shapes of the upper carriage and undercarriage have been completely redesigned around the oscillation of the wheels. This concept is going into production in 2017.
